BMW I Interaction ease, 2020
The BMW I interaction ease high-roof hatchback manufactured and marketed by BMW with an electric powertrain using rear-wheel drive via a single-speed transmission and an underfloor Li-ion battery pack and an optional range-extending petrol engine. The i3 was BMW's first mass-produced zero emissions vehicle and was launched as part of BMW's electric vehicle BMW I sub-brand
Whether private, autonomous, or on-demand, designing better human experiences has been a recurring theme in our long history of collaborations with the BMW Group. So, that from the passenger’s perspective, interacting with the vehicle will feel almost as easy and natural as interacting with another person.
The materials, geometry, and technology in the cabin of the I Interaction EASE have been geared squared to the passenger, says BMW, with particular emphasis placed on ‘natural interaction with an intelligent autonomous vehicle’. To that end, the concept employs interaction forms already familiar from current BMW production models, such as touch control, gesture control, and natural speech for conversing with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.
BMW I Interaction EASE helps to showcase how vehicles can become smarter than the sum of their AI features. But most importantly, it gives passengers the freedom to move and the freedom to be in control of their traveling time and experience.
BMW I Interaction EASE has been introduced for the first time at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. An abstract exterior design has deliberately been used to avoid creating a link in visitors’ minds between the experience in its interior and any specific exterior form.
